BTB Staff Provides Support to Those Affected by the COVID-19 Crisis

Share

In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) recognizes that it is imperative to reach out to help those most in need. On this premise, BTB’s staff has come together to donate towards community outreach initiatives in several different areas of the country.

The first outreach was carried out this past week with Ms. Khadija Assales – a local jewelry artisan in the Cayo district. The BTB teamed up with Ms Assales who has been providing basic food packages which include flour, rice, beans, minsa, cooking oil, and vegetables to families in Cayo. BTB’s donation allowed other basic necessities such as soap powder, toothpaste, toilet tissue, bath soap, and eggs to be added to 100 packages which were distributed to families in Calla Creek village.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the Cayo Tour Guide Association whose representatives selflessly assisted with the packaging and distribution of the items on behalf of the BTB. In the coming weeks the BTB will be seeking out projects across the country to assist families in need.
