A third and fourth contestant vying for the title of Miss Costa Maya International 2016 have been revealed, and they are Miss El Salvador: Marlin Ramirez and Miss Honduras Corina Alejandra Flores Canales.
Miss El Salvador
Marlin Ramirez is 25 years old and in her third year of undergraduate sociology studies at the National University of Santa Ana. The Santa Ana, San Antonio Pajonal native is particularly into history, as her hometown has Maya ancestry. In fact, many ceramic and clay utensils were found in the area, and as such, she loves to learn about the history and culture of the countries she visits while sharing her own. The avid traveler has visited the United States, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Turkey, Iraq, Japan, and Mexico.
Ramirez speaks both Spanish and English, and she looks forward to further growth beyond her studies, hoping to own her own business someday. She has had the opportunity to represent the country in Miss Teen Expoworld, Miss Piel Dorada, Miss Teen Universo, and Miss Internacional in Japan.
Her favorite sport is football, and she is goalkeeper in her local team. Ramirez’ favorite singer is Marc Anthony, author: Paulo Coelho, actress: Jennifer Lopez, and of course, her favorite food is the famous Salvadoran Pupusas!!
Miss Honduras
An international business administrator, Corina Alejandra Flores Canales is no stranger to pageantry. She has represented Honduras at the Miss Ambar Mundial 2015 pageant in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and she won the title of Chica Verano 2015 in her home country. Corina is excited to represent her country proudly, and hopes to keep the title in Honduras for a second straight year.
Marlin and Corina join Miss Costa Rica Monique Rodriguez and Miss Nicaragua Vianca Yasuara Gutiérrez Hernández in the quest for the title of Reina de La Costa Maya 2016, currently held by Miss Honduras Gabriela Vanessa Salazar Valle. The pageant will take place on Thursday, August 4th, the first night of the festival, at the Hon. Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex in San Pedro Town. The entertainment lineup for the festival will include Alison Hinds for Caribbean Night, Friday August 5th, and Los Super Lamas on Noche Internacional, Saturday, August 6th.
Ticket prices have been released, and the festival three-day pass for all events will be $200 for adults (12+) and $60 for children (5-11). Separately, pageant night will be $50 for adults and $30 for children, while Caribbean Night is $100 for adults and $30 for children. Noche Internacional will be $100 for adults and $30 for children.
