Share

With the announcement of the final two contestants vying for the title of Reina de La Costa Maya, we are truly counting down the last days before the International Costa Maya Festival 2016 kicks off! This week, we present to you Miss Mexico, Ingrid Elizabeth Luna Solís and Miss Belize Yadira Yvette Argueta.

Ingrid Solis won the title of Miss Teen Universe Puebla in 2015. She enjoys reading, traveling, modeling, spending time with family and friends and is currently studying psychology.

Yadira Argueta is 22 years old and hails from Pomona in the Stann Creek District. An ambitious Belizean, Yadira is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at the University of Belize, with the ultimate goal of getting her Master’s and opening her own accounting firm. A veteran of pageants, Yadira has captured the Miss Glamour Teen of the Bay title (2009) and the Queen of the Bay crown (2012) and has represented Belize abroad at the Miss PJD2 Caribbean pageant (2014). She loves the catwalk, and her beauty shines onstage during her modeling sessions around the country.

Yadira enjoys dancing, singing, playing sports, meeting new people, and always, she seeks knowledge. She credits her mentor who instilled in her the concept of having “a beautiful mind”, and of the importance of being aware of the past and current issues that affect not only her country but also the world at large. “It takes a whole village to raise a child” has been her life mantra and much like her mentor has done with her, she tries to do the same with others. She mentors adolescents, help those in need whenever she can, assist school children, and even trains pageant hopefuls.

Ingrid and Yadira are joined by Miss Costa Rica Monique Rodriguez, Miss El Salvador Marlin Ramirez, Miss Guatemala Maria Jose Larrañaga Retolaza, Miss Honduras Corina Canales, Miss Nicaragua Vianca Yasuara Gutiérrez Hernández and Miss Panama Margareth Villanueva. The pageant will take place on Thursday, August 4th, the first night of the festival, at the Hon. Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex in San Pedro Town.

Friday night is Caribbean Night, and will star the inimitable Alison Hinds with her fantastic soca music. Also in the lineup for that evening is Honduras duo Yerbaklan. Cesar and Jimmy will be bringing the best of their sounds onstage for our listening and dancing pleasure.
On Saturday night, Noche Internacional, attendees will enjoy the fabulous sounds of the band Los Super Lamas.
