On December 18th, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, Senator the Hon. Eamon Courtenay, held a meeting with the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator for Belize, Ms. Birgit Gerstenberg.
The meeting explored a range of avenues through which the national UN Country Team and the Government of Belize can cooperate to bolster the country’s recovery and long-term strategy for sustainable development.
Minister Courtenay underscored the administration’s ambitious agenda, as well as the plethora of needs of the vulnerable in Belize in these unprecedented times. He welcomed the UN’s support to help fulfill these objectives with deliberate speed.
Accompanying the Minister was Minister of State, Hon. Ramon Cervantes, and CEO of the Ministry, Ambassador Amalia Mai.
