2011 September Celebrations Theme:
“Honouring our History, Celebrating our Cultures, Uniting for Peace”
September is fast approaching, and with it comes the patriotic fever that every Belizean experiences when the first drumbeat is sounded, when the white, red and blue flag starts waving in the Caribbean breeze; when the airwaves fill the air with the first strains of “It was the 10th day of September…”
For the jump-up, Ernestine Carballo’s winning 2011 September Celebrations song, “Jump behind the truck” will certainly provide the vibe for the street parades throughout the country:
From the celebration of St. George’s Caye Day, to the birthday of our beautiful jewel, September is a time for rejoicing, and reveling in Belize’s independence (September 21, 1981). This year, Belize turns the big 3-0, and with it, comes one of the biggest celebrations planned.
The September Celebrations committee, the Ministry of Culture and the Belize Tourism Board, have been working tirelessly on the schedule of events for the entire country. Below find a copy of the schedule of events for San Pedro.
