Isla Bonita Elementary School (IBES) holds graduation ceremony for standard six students

Share

In a brief ceremony under the theme ‘Be Bold, Be Courageous, Be Your Best’, the Isla Bonita Elementary School (IBES) held their graduation service on Friday, June 12th at their compound. The proud standard six graduates marched to the tune of Pomp and Circumstance before parents and friends, who attended the special occasion.

The school decided to celebrate their students’ achievement following the further ease of lockdown restrictions by the Government of Belize after the country continues to register no significant increase in COVID-19 cases. One of those changes in the restrictions allows for social gatherings of up to 100 persons.

The brief ceremony started shortly after 10AM with graduate Michael Estephan delivering an inspiring Salutatorian Address.

Principal Addy Martinez then delivered her message reflecting on IBES’ school year and wishing graduates the best as they transition to secondary school.

Vice-Principal Hector Trejo also shared some words of encouragement to the graduating class.

Graduate Florita Diaz was next to the podium delivering the Valedictorian Address. She reflected on all the hard work everyone has done at IBES, thanking both parents and teachers.

Immediately after, students were presented with tokens and their standard six certificates. The school also recognized some of the parents in attendance with special awards for their support.

The graduation ceremony ended with graduate Talal Harmouch delivering the Vote of Thanks. Afterward, parents and students mingled and enjoyed refreshments provided by the school.
