Support Food Drive for a worthy cause

Share

San Pedro Belize Red Cross (SPBRC) will be hosting a food drive on Saturday, June 6th in order to build stock for the San Pedro Food Bank. The drive is being held in collaboration of the 26-person vacation volunteer group from Toronto, Canada called “Sperro” and the San Pedro Food Bank. Both cash and food items will be collected. All proceeds will benefit the less fortunate residents of Ambergris Caye.
The community’s support is much needed for this worthy cause. Volunteers will be outside of select stores and businesses to accept donations. “Next time you are hungry, think about how it would feel to live life being hungry much of the time. Join together and help us feed those who need it,” said SPBRC member Laurie Norton.Food Drive
In addition, the community is also being asked to donate pet food that will go towards Saga Humane Society. All food will go directly to the food bank, cash donations will be split between SPBRC and San Pedro Food Bank. The food drive will run from 10AM to 2PM. Participating establishments include: Super Buy, Rock’s Grocery Store, Paradise Market, Al Maza Store, Reef Radio and TV, Caye Mart, Ritchie’s Supermarket, Mark’s Grocery Store, Island City, Super Buy South, Marina’s Grocery Store, and Mermaid’s Store.
