On Friday, September 26th, the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) held a Customer Appreciation Day as part of its 51st anniversary celebrations. The event was held simultaneously across the country and encouraged customers and non-customers to visit the branch office for an opportunity to receive information on loans, interest rates and payment plans, and even a chance to win great prizes!
According to Nalleli Gilharry, representative of DFC San Pedro Branch, the event is a way to give back to the community. “As part of Customer Appreciation Day we are offering our customers the opportunity to receive huge discounts on their accounts. But this event wasn’t only for our customers; we also took the opportunity to share information on loans and promotions with the community. One lucky visitor even won a brand new Samsung Galaxy cellular phone!” said Gilharry. A 50% discount on process and application fees was offered to persons wanting to apply for a loan.
DFC is an institution that offers financing to Belizeans at low interest rates and feasible payment plans. Its mission is to contribute to the sustainable growth of Belize’s economy. DFC offers loans for agriculture projects, small business, eco-friendly initiatives, housing, education and tourism growth. “Our loans are designed specifically for the borrower. For example, a tourism loan can be used for anything from creating handicrafts and starting a gift shop, to purchasing a boat for tour operation. The loans can be used either to establish, improve or expand a business,” said Gilharry.
