Tropic Air launches Christmas food drive

Share

Belize City 1Christmas is only a few weeks away and Tropic Air has launched a countrywide food drive with the purpose of distributing canned goods to needy families in the ten communities the company operates out of. All donations will be matched by Tropic Air management. The initiative was launched last week and members of the public as well as the businesses community are being encouraged to participate in the initiative.
According to Jo Sayer of Tropic Air, the initiative is one way that Tropic Air wants to give back to the communities they serve. As such, all Tropic Air offices will serve as drop off locations. “The idea is to create meals for needy family. Each of our station managers have come up with a charity organization they will be working with, or a list of needy families in their areas,” said Sayer.
Sample food baskets with the types of food items requested are on display at ten of Tropic Air terminals across the country. “Each counter will have a box where you can drop off the non-perishable items, preferably canned. We are hoping to collect as much canned food as possible, which we plan to distributed the weekend of December 23rd. We want to bring a little joy to the less fortunate for the Christmas season.”Belize City 2
The company hopes that the food drive is as successful as, or better than, the toy drive that Tropic Air once had in place. The management of Tropic Air will be matching the collected items which will be placed in food hampers and then distributed to families who are in most need.
