If there is a time when the islanders on Ambergris Caye come together as one, it is during a time of need. One great manifestation of that community spirit came to life once more when the family of 7 year old Ethan Galvez decided to conduct a fundraiser on Saturday.
A normally vibrant and energetic young boy, Ethan’s health became compromised when he was diagnosed with Nephritic syndrome. In a show of love and support, family and friends decided to come together and organize a fundraiser in an effort to raise some money to cover a part of the medical expenses. The show of support from the community was great and deserves to be commended. Over $6,500 were raised, thanks to San Pedro community.
Ethan’s family expresses sincere thanks to everyone for the support shown, and asks that the community continue to keep Ethan in its prayers as he faces a long battle towards regaining his health and a chance for a normal life.
