The San Pedro SAGA Humane Society offered free rabies shots to the island’s pets on Wednesday September 28th. Dr. Orlando Baptist, Veterinary Surgeon, was here to administer the shots. Dr. Baptist also offers Veterinary services out of the SAGA Human Society’s facility three days a week, Tuesdays through Thursdays.
By mid afternoon, Dr. Baptist had administered 30 shots, 20 to dogs and 10 to cats. The Free Rabies Vaccine day was held in conjunction with World Rabies Day and marked the beginning of a Global Rabies Prevention Initiative. Apart from shots, pet owners received information on rabies prevention and pet care.
