Wolfe’s Woofer: Act Like A Man

Share

Dennis-Wolfe-Wolfes-Woofers“I’m going to Belize City on Wednesday to do some Christmas shopping.” I told Melody. “Do you want to come along?”
“Sure. I’ll leave baby Grayson with the baby sitter and we’ll take Davin with us.”
On the plane Davin said, “Grandpa, I want to sit next to the window. Why can’t I sit next to the window?”
“Because we’re already seated and your Grandpa is not moving,” Melody said.
“But I want the window seat.”
“Sit there and shut up.”
After walking around in Belize City for an hour Davin said, “Mom, I’m tired.”
“What do you mean, you’re tired?” Melody said. “I’m a lot older than you and I’m not tired. You are only nine. Why are you complaining about being tired?”
“Because I need my rest,” he told her.
We finally stopped for lunch.
“Let me have a cup of black coffee,” I said to the waitress.
“Me, too,” Davin said.
“You don’t drink coffee,” Melody said.
“Waitress, please bring him a small bottle of water,” she said.
“Aw, Mom,” Davin said, “I wanted a cup of coffee.”
“Quit your whining and drink your water!”
“All right, damn it. I’ll take a beer instead.”
Whack!
“You’d better straighten up right now,” Melody said. “You’ve been whining and complaining all day. Now you ask me for a beer and you’re cursing. What has gotten into you?”
Davin said, “Last night you told me that it’s time I started acting like a man. I was just doing what Grandpa and Glenn do.”
