Wolfe’s Woofers: At The Clinic

“What’s the hurry?” he asked.
“I have my monthly doctor’s appointment to do blood tests.”
After leaving Estel’s Restaurant I went straight to the doctor’s office. It was right after lunch and no other patients were waiting but me. A very tired looking lady came in and sat down.
“I don’t want to bother you,” she said to me, “but do you mind if I go before you? I have a chest cold and I just need a prescription. It won‘t take long.”
“Of course, you can.”
True to her word she was in the examining room for only about five minutes. As she and the doctor came out of the room she said, “Doctor, I wanted to ask you about one more thing.”
“Sure. Go right ahead.”
“It’s about my husband, Juan. He thinks he is a refrigerator.”
“What?” the doctor said. “Tell me more about this.”
“Juan got kicked in the head playing football about four months ago,” she said. “Since then he thinks he’s a refrigerator.”
“Does he say he is a refrigerator?”
“Sometimes.”
“Do you think he believes it?” the doctor asked.
“Well, he sleeps with his mouth open.”
“A lot of men sleep with their mouth open.”
“Yes,” the lady said, “but I can’t get any sleep at all with the little light on.”
