With a no show from FF Valley Pride F.C, San Pedro Pirates F.C automatically received three points and moved to the third place position of the Premiere League of Belize (PLB) chart with 19 points overall. The game was scheduled to be held at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town at 7:30PM, but FF Valley Pride didn’t show up, and the Pirates received victory points.
Other matches taking place during the weekend saw Altitude F.C defeating Belize Defense Force with a 2-0 score, Wagiya Sporting Club winning 1-0 over Belmopan Bandits and Verdes F.C easily coming out victorious over Placencia Assassins with a 7-1 score.
The PLB’s current standings have Verdes F.C at the top of the chart with 27 points, followed by Belmopan Bandits with 25 points and San Pedro Pirates F.C with 19 points. Following the top three teams is Altitude F.C with 18 points, BDF with 16 points, Wagiya Sporting Club with 15 points and Placencia Assassins with six points. At the bottom of the chart is FF Valley Pride F.C with four points.
The island team only has two more matches left before the 2019 PLB Opening Season comes to an end. Out of the eight teams currently participating, only the four teams with the highest scores will advance to the playoff series. With teams scores being so close together, the island team will have to win their last two matches.
For this upcoming week, San Pedro Pirates will be travelling to Belize City to go against BDF F.C at MCC Grounds on Sunday, November 3rd. For their last match of the season on Saturday, November 9th, they will be going against Wagiya Sporting Club at home at the Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro Town at 7:30PM.
