The championship games of the 6-a-side Interoffice Football Tournament are quickly approaching. On Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th, football fanatics gathered at the Honorable Louis Sylvestre Sports Complex to watch the quarterfinals. A total of eight teams battled to score as many goals as possible to earn points and advance in the competition.
The first four matches took place on Friday starting at 7PM. Taxi Strikers struggled against Costa Boys, who emerged victorious with a 3-0 score. Next to take to the field were Victoria House and S.P.T.C Boys. Both teams failed to score, ending the game in a draw. Caribeña faced Mambo Boys in a close match, with Mambo Boys winning 3-2. In the final match of the night, Rain faced Martha’s Ice, winning 1-0.
Saturday’s second set of matches started with Martha’s Ice versus Rain. Martha’s Ice took the 1-0 win, advancing to the semifinals. S.P.T.C Boys and Victoria House followed, with Victoria House winning 1-0. Caribeña and Mambo Boys battled intensely in the third match, ending in a 2-2 tie. The last game of the night saw Costa Boys go up against a dominant Taxi Strikers, who won 2-1.
