A tournament is being organizer for all interested billiard players on the island. The Christmas 8-Ball pool tournament is scheduled to commence in the first week of December and will see teams competing for a grand cash prize of $1,000.
8-Ball is a form of billiards played with fifteen numbered balls and the cue ball. The objective of the game is to shoot all balls (one through seven or nine through fifteen, depending on which team you are) off the table before attempting to shoot the eight ball. The team that completes this first wins the game.
Those interested in entering the tournament are asked to register teams consisting of five members. A team captain must be selected for each participating team. Registration fee is at $25 per player or $125 per team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams: 1st place – $1,000 plus five case of beer, 2nd place – $500 plus three cases of beer and 3rd place – $200 plus one case of beer.
