San Pedro Under 20 Football Team places 2nd in Belize District Under 20 Football Competition

The Belize District Under-20 Football Tournament, sponsored by the Belize District Football Association, came to an end on Saturday November 5th. Three games were played at the Marylebone Cricket Club Grounds, commencing at 12:30pm. The San Pedro U20 football team played against Admiral Complex, for the first and second place around 2:30pm.
At the end of the 90 minutes regular time, both teams were tied at 1 to 1. The game went into overtime, with Admiral Complex breaking the tie with a penalty kick in the 20th minute in the overtime. At the end of the 30 minutes overtime, Admiral Complex emerged victorious with a score of 3 to1 winning the bragging rights to being called Belize’s District 2011 Under-20 Football Champions.
Manager for the SP U-20 football team, Mr. Fuljencio Hoare, stated that the boys did extremely well in this tournament and that the team will be preparing for next year’s tournament. The team would like to extend much thanks to: Mata Chica Resort, Victoria House, Belizean Shores, Juanita Alamilla, Pete Salazar, Cholos, Mario Graniel, Gaby Nuñez, Wally Nuñez, Oscar Gutierrez, Nelly Gomez, Anchor QEA, Belize Rural South Office, San Pedro Town Council, San Pedro UDP Slate, Tropic Air and The San Pedro Sun for contributing to the team’s success. The team would also like to thank Rudy Duran for providing transportation to the finals.
