Drugs Trafficking
On Monday 13th August 2012 at about 2PM San Pedro Police officers visited the residents of Gilbert Henry 29 year old of a Sea Grape Drive Address where a search was conducted. During the search police found 10 transparent plastic bags and wrapped inside were what appeared to be 7.1 grams suspected cannabis and four plastic bag containing buff substances suspected to be 8.2 grams of crack cocaine. Police also discovered cash totaling $356.85 believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs. Henry, the suspected drugs and the money were taken to the San Pedro Police Station. As a result police later charged Henry for the crimes of being in possession of control drugs and drugs trafficking.
Sudden Death
On Monday August 13th at 9:15AM police personnel and Dr Lorenzo Nicholson responded to a call where they visited a pier centrally located in San Pedro Town. Upon arrival they saw the motionless body of 55 year old Barcley Dawson Rader, retired American of 10 miles north of San Pedro Town lying face up wrapped in a white sheet on a plywood slab. The body had been transported to the pier by boat. Initial investigation revealed that on Sunday August 12th at about 9:30AM the deceased went to sleep in his room. At about 8:45PM on the same date his son, namely 22 year old Dalton Paul Rader an unemployed American of the same address went to check on him and found him lying on his left side apparently dead. The police then transported the body to the San Pedro Poly Clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. There was no visible sign of violence and further investigation reveals that the deceased have been suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure and pulmonary infection. No foul play is suspected.
Possession of Controlled Drugs
On Monday August 13th at about 2PM San Pedro police conducted an operation where they searched the premises of 35 year old Belizean businesswoman Sandra Isela Catzim and 25 year old Honduran maintenance worker Jose Manuel Garcia with the strength of a search warrant. The search led police to the discovery of 21 small white parcels of suspected crack cocaine sealed inside the lower portion of a grey and black thermos cup. The drugs totaled 0.8 grams of crack cocaine. Both Catzim and Garcia were formally arrested and charged for the offence of possession of control drugs.
Damage to government property
On Saturday August 11th at about 3:45AM PC #981 Jason Shaw was performing duties at the San Pedro Police Station when he observed an East Indian male person. The person about 5 feet 6 inches in height with low hair cut wearing a grew undershirt and a ¾ blue jeans short pants was standing close by the police Toyota Hillux truck with license plate SC 0033 that was parked in front of the police station. A few minutes later PC Shaw observed that the same male person then knocked the driver’s door causing a dent. The person was highly under the influence of alcohol and whereby he was approached and informed of the offences committed and escorted into the station.
The person identified as 27 year old James Cruz, a Belizean unemployed of Glitter Street in San Pedro Town was detained pending charges of damage to property.
Common Assault
33 year old Roxanna Canul a Belizean laborer of San Pedrito Area of San Pedro Town visited the police station and reported that on August 11th whilst socializing at Big Daddy’s Night Club at about 2AM a female person known as Lorena Montes threw a pint bottle after her which missed her. Canul then approached Montes and inquired what the reason was for her behavior after which Lorena Montes pushed the complainant and a struggle started between them. The complainant received scratches to her right hand and the side of her neck. The security guard had taken both persons out of the club after which three male people followed the complainant and again a fight issued outside of the club. Police detained Lorena Montes, James Cruz and John Henry but have since been released pending investigation.
