On Friday, October 17th a team consisting of San Pedro Police, San Pedro Quick Response Team, Criminal Investigation Branch, Special Branch and Belize City Gang Suppression Unit personnel conducted an anti-drugs operation in San Pedro Town. The operation was headed by Inspector Mark Flowers with assistance of Special Branch Intelligence. A total of 2.8 grams of suspected cannabis, 8.6 grams of suspected cocaine and metal pipe suspected to be used for drugs was confiscated.
Following is a breakdown of the operation:
• A search was conducted at the apartment of 32-year-old Sharlette Willams, 18-yearold Marlon Casey, 19-year-old Alexander Williams and a minor in the San Pedrito Area. The search led to the discovery of a transparent plastic bag containing 0.8 grams if suspected cannabis. All persons were formally arrested and charged for the crime of “Possession of Controlled Drugs”.
• A search was conducted at the residence of 51-year-old Peter Moses Hernandez, also known as Campos, in the San Juan Area. Present at the time 23-year-old Teresita Cordova, 26-year-old Marciana Campos, 47-year-old Edonia Jimenez, 44-year-old Laura Trapp, 25-year-old Pedro Campos, 19-year-old Maribeni Garcia, 18-year-old Marcos Zelaya, 21-year-old Luis Campos and four minors. The search led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 8.6 grams of suspected cocaine. All subjects were formally arrested and charged for the crime of “Drug Trafficking”.
• A search was conducted at the residence of 40-year-old Claudia Cabanas, 19-year-old Diannie Cabanas 21-year-old Laura Valencia, 21-year-old Nayelie Cabanas, 31-year-old Jaime Campos and 21-year-old Alexis Alvarenga in the San Juan Area. The search led to the discovery of a silver and green metal pipe measuring 3.25 inches suspected to be used for smoking cannabis. All subjects were formally arrested and charged for the crime of “Possession of pipe”.
• A search was conducted inside a vacant apartment in the San Juan Area which led to the discovery of two separate transparent plastic bags containing two grams of suspected cannabis. No one was in the area and the drug was labeled and deposited as found property.
