On June 24, 2021, the Central Health Region Dental Department officially reopened the dental clinic at Cleopatra White Polyclinic II in Belize City.

During a short ceremony, Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health & Wellness, expressed his appreciation to the management and staff who work hard to offer dental services to residents of Belize City and surrounding communities. He pledged to continue to assist the clinic and other dental clinics across the country.
Dr. Raphael Samos, senior dental surgeon, said, “over the years we have seen the increased need and importance that oral health has in our communities and as such we have responded to the demands of the public to reopen this clinic for dental services.”
The dental clinic at Cleopatra White Polyclinic II was closed in May 2020 due to financial constraints. Renovations on the building started in March 2019, which included a total power wash of the building and removal of lab specimens at a total cost of $3,559. Additionally, new furniture and equipment including a new complete dental chair was procured at a total cost of $5546.51. The estimated cost for the entire renovation was $22,739.31. Services at the newly renovated dental clinic include examination, medication, surgical extraction, and minor surgeries services. COVID-19 protocols and regulations as dictated by the Ministry of Health & Wellness will be maintained at the clinic.
Also in attendance were Dr. Deysi Mendez, CEO in the ministry, and Ms. Melinda Guerra, regional health manager, Central Health Region.
