The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the National Drug Abuse Control Council (NDAAC) and SMART, hosted a one-day wellness fair on Saturday, October 10th. Hosted at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II from 9AM to 3PM, the fair provided vital information and testing to promote healthy living among island residents. Throughout the day, community members visited the polyclinic to take advantage of the several free services being offered. Those in attendance also received valuable information from community health groups.
Some of the services being offered included HIV Testing (pre and post tests), HIV counseling, glucose checks, blood pressure testing, pap smear exams, breast exams and drug use counseling.
Organizers would like to thank all those who took the time to participate in the fair. They also encourage everyone to visit their health care provider regularly, as early detection saves lives.
