The Collet Education and Resource Center Breastfeeding Counseling Service in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Institute on Nutrition for Central America and Panama (INCAP) and the Ministry of Health has organized a one day workshop aimed at promoting and facilitating breastfeeding in the workplace. The objective of the workshop is to sensitize the management of workplaces of the importance of promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding in the workplace. The benefits for breastfeeding are immeasurable and go beyond the first months of life. Breastfeeding is the best source of nourishment for infants and young children. There is sufficient evidence that shows breastfeeding in the workplace impacts directly on the health of the infant and mother which is seen immediately and is long lasting. The workshop will take place on August 7th, 2015 at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina. The main address at the workshop will be delivered by Hon. Godwin Hulse; Minister of Immigration, Labour, Local Government and Rural Development; who will speak on the International Labour Organization Convention 183.
