Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic II now open 12 hours a day

As of Monday November 21st, the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Polyclinic II has started their 12-hours a day service. The official announcement was made via a release from the health facility after months of negotiation between the San Pedro Business community and the Ministry of Health and after years of constant request. Upon the renaming of the Polyclinic back on the 7th of October, Health Minister Pablo Marin announced the details of the negotiation made for the extension of opening hours and the expansion of health services at the facility.

General Consultations for the new 12-hour shifts are:

Monday – Saturday: 8am – Noon – All Acute Illnesses (Flu,Fever, Pain etc.) and Emergencies.
Monday – Friday: Noon – 8pm – All Chronic Illnesses (Diabetes, Hypertensions, Asthma, Hearth Diseases etc.) and Emergencies.
Thursday and Friday: Evening – Refill Medications and Follow-ups
**Emergency: After Working Hours (8pm) and weekends (after Noon) Call Phone Number 660-2871.

Maternal Child Health:
Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm)
Monday: Booking for Pregnant Mothers (1st time)
Tuesday: Pregnant Mothers
Wednesday: Immunizations
Thursdays and Friday: Outreach
(Home Visits & School Visits )

Dentist:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 8am – 5pm: Dental Consolations
Tuesdays: School Visits
Thursdays: Out Reach
(Caye Caulker)

Public Health Inspector:
Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (8am – 4:30pm)
Thursdays: Caye Caulker

Psychiatric Nurses:
Every 15th & 30th of the Month (9:30 am – 3:00 pm)

The next step to be announced for the improvement of the health system on the island will be the location of a parcel of land for the construction of a hospital.
