Press Release – Ambergris Caye Elementary School – January 6, 2015 – ACESAt this, our first Charity Gala & Art Auction, we hope to raise both awareness and much-needed operating and scholarship funds for Ambergris Caye Elementary School (ACES). Because it is a nonprofit organization, all donations to the school are tax deductible, and all proceeds will directly benefit ACES and its students. We also hope to bring attention to the incredible art of San Pedro, along with the talented local artists and artisans who generously donated pieces to this worthy cause.
Ambergris Caye Elementary School (ACES) is a non-denominational community-based private school on Ambergris Caye. Since its establishment in 2009, ACES has enthusiastically embraced the amazing cultural and ethnic diversity that makes up our wonderful island and promotes awareness and respect among our students.
With its dedication to the highest standards of learning, ACES has consistently scored near or at the top among the island’s schools on the national PSE (Primary School Exam). To further our commitment to giving our students the best education available we boast a low student to teacher ratio with classes having no more than 15 students. We believe the smaller classes allows for more individualized attention for each of our students. At ACES no child will ever fall through the cracks or be left behind! In an effort to serve the needs of all the island’s children, ACES also boasts the only dedicated Special Needs program on Ambergris Caye, and partners with the wonderful Camp Starfish program for the island’s special needs kids each summer.
Often new residents and visitors to the island are startled to learn that free public education does not yet exist in Belize. Many students in Belize do not have the luxury of an education simply because their parents cannot afford to send them. On our island there are students who have never had the opportunity to attend school. It is ACES goal to provide the highest quality of education while striving to keep tuition cost down and provide scholarships to those in need.
To that end, we would like to invite the community to join us at the ACES 1St Annual Ball Gowns & BBQ Charity Gala! Graciously Hosted by the popular Estel’s Dine by the Sea on Wednesday Jan. 20th, it will be a fun night of glamorous gowns (accessorized with flip flops) music, and a silent art auction. Of course we had to add our own Belizean twist, so dinner will feature Estel’s world famous mixed grill BBQ and we will be toasting our friends with the island’s best Rum Punch!
Tickets are $75 BZD per person and are being sold on a first come basis as space is extremely limited. Please contact Stephanie at 625-5976 or via email: [email protected] to secure your tickets.
When you choose to give to ACES please know that 100% of your donation will be used to help provide a quality education to the children of San Pedro, allowing them to realize their individual potential and ultimately contribute to the future of their amazing little island.
