Islanders enjoy the festive Love FM Christmas Parade

Share

Love FM hosted their fifth annual Christmas Parade in San Pedro on Saturday, December 12th. The festive parade brings color, music and much Christmas cheer to the main streets of the island with brightly lit floats and participants in themed costumes. This year’s parade was a spectacular show of creativity with elaborate floats from the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC), Love FM, Top Notch, Isla Bonita Elementary School, Belize National Library Service and Information System, the Garifuna Council San Pedro Branch, Wings and the San Pedro Lions Club.Love FM 12 Days of Christmas Parade-3
The parade started shortly after 7PM from the Boca del Rio Park. Residents and island visitors flocked to the streets along the parade route to get a prime viewing spot. The sounds of Christmas carols announced the parade was near. Leading this year’s parade was the San Pedro Town Mayor, Councilors and staff who were happily handing out sweet treats to all the children. Miss San Pedro Iris Salguero then followed on a decked out Christmas sleigh float. Also in the parade was Area Representative Honorable Manuel Heredia Jr.Love FM 12 Days of Christmas Parade-15
ABC Preschool brought Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Olaf the snowman, Cinderella and Prince Charming to pose for photos and greet everyone along the route. A special treat from Love FM was the performance from Belize’s songstress Melonie Gillett who serenaded the crowd with the season’s carols all along the parade.

Big thanks goes out to all the participants of this year’s event! The Love FM Christmas Parade in San Pedro is held as part of their annual countrywide 12 Days of Christmas Celebration!
