The 2015 International Costa Maya Festival® is really coming together. With the latest exciting announcement of another international performer, El Chevo, there truly will be something for everybody! The Honduran electro-punta singer/musician El Chevo is renowned for his collaborative work with Grupo Santa Fe, Las Chicas Rolands, Kazzabe Group, Los Silver Star and more. His popular hit song “Metele, Sacala” truly combines his country’s native rhythm with his popular electronic fusions. Be sure to see him performing live on Friday, August 7th!
Adding to the excitement is the announcement of three more beautiful contestants seeking the title of Reina de la Costa Maya! We are pleased to present to you Miss El Salvador Genesis Margarita Fuentes Bolaños, Miss Mexico Samantha Gutíerrez Gónzalez-Rubio and Miss Panama María Cristina Saavedra.
Genesis Bolaños is proud to represent her country El Salvador. The 20-year-old beauty is currently pursuing a degree in psychology. Genesis enjoys playing basketball, singing, reading, and dancing.
Samantha Gónzalez-Rubio is a 24-year-old Mexican beauty with a degree in nutrition, enjoys reading, running, swimming, and watching movies.
Maria Saavedra is 22 years old and hails from Panama. She is a student but also has a degree in Marketing. A professional model, Maria enjoys reading, skating, hula-hops, modeling, and playing with her schnauzers! She also gives courses and training at the Panama Women’s Center.
Genesis, Samantha and Maria join Miss Nicaragua Yuliset Laguna, Miss Costa Rica Corlina On Porras and Miss Honduras Gabriela Vanessa Salazar Valle as they await the announcement of Miss Belize and Miss Guatemala for 2015 Reina de La Costa Maya®. The coveted crown is currently held by Miss Mexico Elisa Gomez, and a night of pageantry and beauty will determine the next title-holder on Thursday, August 6th.
Upon arrival on July 29th to La Isla Bonita, the eight ladies will be facing a full itinerary of fun activities. Fido’s Courtyard will be hosting the beauties on the first night of their arrival, and the public is invited to come on down and mingle with the lovely girls before they begin their rounds of preparations for the pageant.
All eight beauties will be hosted at Ramon’s Village Resort, which will also be holding the much-anticipated Noche Sanpedrana on their gorgeous beachfront. The eight beauties will be modeling and presenting their cultural costumes (judged separately), then mingle with the guests, capturing their hearts before the main event. There will be tours and water activities, as well as photo shoots/calls along with much practice for a spectacular pageant night on Thursday, August 6th.
Friday, August 7th will bring culture and music to attendees. Bringing fabulous performances onstage will be the Mexican Dance Troupe Ballet Alma Caribeña, as well as the ever wonderful Belize Dance Company. The mighty GILHARRY 7 Band will be bringing the best of Belizean music, and Honduras’ El Chevo will add spice to the mix.
Saturday will see entertainment galore courtesy of Grupo Crash from El Salvador, an international DJ and the highly anticipated Grupo Ladron!
