San Pedro High School (SPHS) is once again celebrating its annual Miss SPHS Pageant to be held on June 2, 2012 at 7PM at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium. The seven lovely young contestants are Emily Simoes, Arlethe Lima, Kaysha Martin, Fatima Reyes, Nicky Coleman, Ethel Villatoro, and Nissi Arzu. They will by vying for the much desired honor of representing their high school for the year 2012-2013.
The pageant promises to be a night of fun-filled presentations and entertainment. According to organizer Renison Crawford, the pageant will be better than any other Miss SPHS pageants. The seven girls are currently being coached in the art of pageantry and dance by Jhoshi Alexander Valencia, Mr. Jade World 2012-2013.
The pageant will start with an introduction of all the contestants, after which the young ladies will perform a dance. They will then model professional/business attire, cultural costume, casual wear, the evening gown and then face the tough, question and answer session.
During intermissions there will be a fashion show and dance presentations by the San Pedro Dance Company as well as performances by other students of SPHS. Tickets are available for $7.00 for reserved seating, $5.00 in advance at $10.00 at the gate. Children under 12 years old enter for free. Prior to the pageant, the contestants will be presented to the entire community of San Pedro in the form of a Motorcade, moving through the principal streets of San Pedro.
The high school is humbly asking local businesses for donations either monetary or in form of a gift to give to their participants. They also have three girls that do not have a sponsor as of yet, so anyone who is interested in donating a prize or becoming a sponsor, please call 226-2045.
