Standard Six students’ science skills were put to the test when San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) hosted its annual science fair on Friday, March 31st. Held at the school grounds, the fair saw thirteen creative booths.
From Isaac Newton’s three laws of motion to the reproduction of a flower, students displayed their knowledge of the scientific curriculum. All groups were well versed in their material, and they presented their projects to the lower division classes.
Standard Six Teacher Ross Novelo said that science and problem-solving is crucial. “The projects were more scientific than last year’s. The point of this fair is for students to exercise their knowledge, so they can do well on their primary school examination (PSE). Last year, we noticed that when we did activities like this, students were motivated and achieved more. We have seen the students retain information more easily,” said Novelo.
After the fair, teachers gave the students many positive remarks about their performance. The students stated that they had fun and hoped to ace the science portion of their PSE exam held on Monday, April 3rd.
SPRCS extends many thanks to everyone who attended the event, and congratulates its students on an excellent job.
