Got Milk? San Pedro joins in World Milk Day!

Some 200 students at both San Pedro Roman Catholic School and Holy Cross Anglican School got to be a part of World Milk Day 2012. The event is being celebrated countrywide this year. The first World Milk Day was held in 2001 and since then, many countries have participated in the celebrations, and this year, Belize joined in.

Held to provide an opportunity to focus attention on milk and to publicize activities connected with milk and the milk industry, the day also focused on the importance of milk consumption in the preservation of healthy bones and strong teeth.

Santiago Castillo Ltd. took this occasion to launch their new line of Dairy Products – Dutch Lady Low Fat Milk – which was shared with the kids at both schools. Using Oreo cookies to dip in their milk, the energetic students were eager to gulp down their cup of milk with cookies.
