Every year, The Island Academy puts on a fabulous Christmas pageant, complete with Christmas Carols, singing, and dancing – from start to finish – it’s a production of marvelous proportions. 2011’s Christmas Pageant was no exception, as every single student performed their little hearts out to their proud parents and friends.
The words “cute”, “adorable”, “talented”, “fun”, “funny” – did we mention “awww cute”?! – totally sum up the show. TIA students had been practicing for over a month, and their practice certainly paid off. After starting off with individual classes performing their Christmas Carols, it was on to the big show: “A Pirate Christmas”.
Organized by teacher Alexis Demuth, “A Pirate Christmas” was a fabulous show about Elves and pirates. Elves were on their sleigh on a tropical spot, enjoying the warm sun when pirates stumbled upon them. Snoring in a tent to the side was Santa Claus. When one brave pirate (complete with pink beard) went to peep, she was amazed that the fabled “Whitebeard” was alive, and of all things, the leader of the elves.
With lots of singing and dancing, Santa and the elves convinced the pirates to come with them to the North Pole, where the “treasure” was located. In a great story about giving and sharing, and enjoying the Christmas spirit, the Elves, Santa and the Pirates all came together in harmony.
With the final strains of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” led by Lady Dixie and teachers, all students bid their Christmas Wish to everyone in attendance, and then it was off to enjoy a delicious potluck dinner. Merry Christmas from The Island Academy!!
