The San Pedro Police is investigating a stabbing incident that has left a man hospitalized and the alleged culprit on the run. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Dean Staines of a Coconut Drive address in San Pedro Town. The incident occurred sometime before 4:45AM on Sunday February 26th.
According to Police, sometime around 4:45AM, Staines was in the company of a female friend of the same address inside their premises when they were approached by male person. The person, who is known to police as Nolan Haylock also of a San Pedro Town address, allegedly walked up to Staines and proceeded to stab him in the neck.
As a result of the incident, Staines was taken to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez Poly-Clinic II. According to Dr. Javier Zuniga, Staines received a deep wound which cut his jugular vein located on the left side of his neck. The injury cause massive bleeding since the vessel is one of two main blood vessels. According to Dr. Zuniga, although Staines was still conscious he lost about two to three liters of blood. Staines was subsequently rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) via an air ambulance where he remains in critical but stable condition.
When asked what possibly may have let to the incident, Police indicated that while their investigation is ongoing, it appears that the incident stems from a break-up between Haylock and his ex-girlfriend, who is now dating Staines. The police have not recovered the weapon used in the incident, and they are looking for Haylock, who has been on the run since the incident. When apprehended, Haylock may face charges for serious offences which include aggravated burglary, dangerous grievous harm, use of deadly means of harm, and other charges.

San Pedro Police has confirmed that they have in their custody a wanted person in relation to a stabbing that occurred on the morning of Sunday February 26th. The individual, Nolan Haylock, was detained sometime today, Monday February 27th by San Pedro Police.
According to Officer in Charge of the San Pedro Police Formation Assistant Superintendent of Police Dennis Arnold, Haylock is in custody and is being questioned regarding the stabbing. Haylock is expected to be charged sometime today for a number of offences and is likely to appear before the San Pedro Magistrate Court tomorrow, Tuesday February 28th.
