Castillo’s Hardware donates air conditioning unit to San Pedro’s polyclinic

The dentistry section of the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II received an air conditioner courtesy of Castillo’s Hardware. This part of the polyclinic was without the essential air cooler after their unit was deemed unrepairable.

Castillo’s Hardware is known on the island for its outstanding service and contributions to the island community. They are known for rewarding their loyal patrons, and their philanthropy grows every year as they continue to give back to their community. The management saw the need and the opportunity to make things better for the hard-working healthcare staff at the polyclinic and was more than happy to donate. Castillo’s Hardware said this is a way to thank the medical/health staff for their hard work during the pandemic.

The polyclinic management and staff thanks Castillo’s Hardware for their generosity. The island’s main health center continues to provide the best of services despite its limitations. The clinic, although under the Ministry of Health and Wellness, still functions with limited resources. Over the years, generous donations from organizations such as the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, the San Pedro Town Council, and hoteliers, among others, have provided the clinic with medical supplies. Fundraiser events organized by groups like the San Pedro Belize Tourism Industry Association have also aided the island’s health center in securing funds to continue operating with sufficient supplies.

The polyclinic operates Monday to Friday from 8AM to 8PM. After these hours and on weekends, it remains open but only for emergencies.
