On the evening of Friday, May 7th, the Government of Belize issued new COVID-19 regulations addressing sporting events and allowing restaurants to increase their indoor capacity of seated guests.

Contact sports can only take place for training purposes. Participants are exempt from practicing social distancing or wearing a face mask. These contact sports include baseball, basketball, football, martial arts, softball, rugby, boxing, and volleyball, to name a few.

Restaurants indoor capacity increase to 75%

The SI now allows restaurants to allow more people in their indoor facilities to a maximum of 75% of their seating capacity. Restaurants are reminded that these dining-in services should be by reservation only.
