On Thursday, April 1st, the San Pedro Town Council (SPTC) officially launched its website- www.sanpedrotowncouncil.org. The website offers information about all its departments/services, and in the upcoming weeks, they hope to integrate online payment options for trade licenses, taxes, and other fees.
Mayor Gualberto ‘Wally’ Nuñez indicated that the website’s launch is part of their manifesto before being elected. The convenience of paying bills/fees online is one way to avoid crowds at the SPTC during this time. The website, which is considered a milestone in the town’s digital age, offers information on their departments such as traffic, building, sanitation, and revenue. The services for trade, liquor licenses, property tax, and information on upcoming events like Market Day are now just a click away from the comfort of your computer or mobile phone.
The website also counts with detailed information on the administration, boards, acts, and the islands’ tourism. The platform also intends to keep islanders up to date with all town council activities and deliver transparent governance as committed by Mayor Nuñez. San Pedranos can also share their ideas through the website and have an intimate relationship with the SPTC like never before.
The newly installed SPTC has encouraged economic activities with its Women in Business Expo and Market Day so far. While at the same time driving up the importance of staying healthy by fun fitness sessions. The young administration plans to do more for San Pedro, and the website is a tool they look forward to utilizing to move La Isla Bonita forward.
