Labour Department Launches Online Employment Services System

Share

The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government held a virtual launching ceremony for the new online Employment Services System (ESS). The Ministry celebrates this achievement as its second electronic system since the start of this year.
Developed by the Central Information Technology Office (CITO), the ESS will allow persons to fill out documents online for the collection and processing of unemployment information. The system will also capture vacancy information from employers and match it with the education, experience and skills of jobseekers. The ESS has the capability to generate statistics and pre-defined reports by demographics, geographic locations, industries, and job types.
The ESS plays a pivotal role in balancing labour supply and demand, as employment opportunities will be able to fill the gaps in the different sectors of the economy. The Ministry applauds the strong tripartite relationship that is shared between the Ministry and other government entities in working towards job creation and job preservation to rebuild industries for the benefit of all Belizeans.
Present at the launch were Hon. Oscar Requena, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government; Mr. Valentino Shal, Chief Executive Officer; staff of the Labour Department; and stakeholders involved in the development of the online ESS.
The Labour Department invites employers and jobseekers to visit the online Employment Services System at https://employmentservices.mlgrd.gov.bz/.
