The long years of studying template creation in sewing and fashion design can now be a thing of the past. It may sound unreal but acclaimed Lutterloh system guarantees to eliminate the long hours of training. Those wanting to learn can enjoy a free Pattern -Making class on Saturday, March 5th, at the San Pedro House of Culture. Classes will be available at 5PM and 6PM, and according to the organizer, one hour will be more than enough to master the job.
The classes are open for beginners and experts, and according organizer Frank Lutterloh, a lot can be learned. During the one day event on the island, participants will be able to learn how to make their own custom-fit patterns no matter what their measurements are. There will be demonstrations on how to make vests in minutes to fit volunteers at the classes.
According to Lutterloh the system that he is teaching was invented in Germany around 1935 and today it is taught in over 25 countries and available in 17 different languages. “First I will make two vest patterns for the audience, and then I will show a collar and a sleeve. The patterns will be fitted to the volunteers in the class so that the other students can see how well they fit,” said Lutterloh.
“After attending the classes, participants will be able to make all kinds of fashions for themselves and for their families,” said Lutterloh. “No previous pattern experience is necessary.”
Lutterloh believes that this method of pattern making will add to the hobby seamstresses/tailors on Ambergris Caye. Prior to his classes in San Pedro Town, he was giving pattern making classes at Mikado Store in Belize City.
Everyone who attends the free one hour class will receive three pattern designs for their participation.
