Like many businesses on Ambergris Caye, new seasons normally see many establishments being turned over to the hands of new owners. There are however a few businesses that have stood strong against the winds of time and have gone on to establish roots deep in the soils of La Isla Bonita. Owners such as Glen and Colleen Schwendinger of Rendezvous Restaurant and Winery have proven that they are in it for the long run as on December 15th Rendezvous celebrated 16 years of service to Ambergris Caye!
Glen and Colleen have worked over the years to provide good service and a great dining experience to all who visit, cementing their place in a part of our island history. Originally from Canada, owner Glen attributes their success to “Luck, attention to detail, execution and commitment.” Schwendinger thanks the community and visitors for their continued support over the years.
Whether you’ve been privileged to enjoy their famous Thai and French fusion cuisine or a glass or two of Chardonnay or Cabernet wine produced on site, everyone who visits Rendezvous is taken away by this charming beach setting.
Their success has had us look around at other longtime classic establishments and we also salute Estel’s Dine by the Sea which is owned by Charles and Estella Worthington, Elvi’s Kitchen which is owned by Elvia Staines, Celi’s Deli owned by Celi McCorkle and Blue Water Grill- owned by Kelly and Mukul Kanabar.
The San Pedro Sun congratulates all these businesses, and thanks them for playing an integral role in making San Pedro Town the travel destination that it is.
