Since he was assigned to the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro PolyClinic II, Doctor Javier Zuniga has become well-known and loved by many in San Pedro Town. But the good doctor has formally left his San Pedro post, and is transitioning into a new position at the Ministry of Health’s Central Health Region.Javier-Zuniga1
According to Zuniga, due to the recent additional qualifications he gained while studying in Australia in 2013, the Ministry of Health has appointed him as the Belize District Primary Health Care Coordinator. As such, he will be working out of the Ministry of Health Office in Belize City. This includes the management of all Polyclinics in the Belize District as well as the Health Centers in the rural areas.
“While I will depart from the PolyClinic in San Pedro, I will still be involved in ensuring that the quality of health care remains on par at the polyclinic and with the Ministry of Health. I would like to thank the San Pedro community for working along with me while on the island,” said Zuniga.
Dr. Zuniga was attached to the San Pedro PolyClinic for eight years. He assumes his new post on Monday, October 20th.
