Four Contracts Signed Under Flood Mitigation Infrastructure Program

Minister of Works and Transport Honourable Rene Montero, Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Works and Transport Lennox Bradley and Project Manager Rolando Chan met with contractors today at the Ministry of Works and
Transport Conference Room in the City of Belmopan, where they signed contracts for an upcoming Flood Mitigation Infrastructure Program.

A total of four contracts were signed, namely the Bill Lindo Canal Contract which includes construction of a concrete-lined and earthen canal, contracted to Mehia’s United at a cost of $892, 250; the Douglas Jones Canal Contract which includes construction of a concrete-lined, covered canal contracted to Medina’s Construction at a cost of $1,813,629.88; the North Side Canal Contract which includes the cleaning of the existing canal and lining with vinyl sheet pile, also contracted to Medina’s Construction at a cost of $1,935,150; and the Link Road (Apollo Street) to Belama Phase IV Contract which includes street upgrades contracted to M&R Construction at a cost of
$1,077,425.86. The contracts total $5,718,455.74.

Mr. Lennox Bradley will act as supervisor to ensure the suitable and timely completion of the contract works, scheduled to be underway by September 8th, 2014 and expected to be completed by July 5th, 2015.
