Saga Halloween 2013-27Friends and furry  Saga Humane Society fans donned their most creative garb and braved the rainy elements to  attend the 10th annual Saga SPOOKTACULAR  Halloween party which was held at BC’s Bar on Sunday afternoon, October 27th. With live music courtesy of  Valentino, delicious food for sale, raffle giveaways, silent auction and Ms. Charlene and staff graciously tending to the guests, the party was a great opportunity to raise funds for the humane society while enjoying some good old fashioned Halloween fun.Saga Halloween 2013-8

Of course the highlight of the day was the pet costume contest and many of the owners wore coordinating attire. Judges Tamara, Jan and Allan had a tough time deciding on the winners as  all of the contestants where so imaginative, but in the end the cutest, the scariest and the best pet and owner team was selected. There was a tie for the cutest category, with the title shared by Tula with her dog Yankee adored as a “Pupcake” and David and Benjamin with their dog Bella as a witch. Second place for cutest costume went to Elsa and her dog Princess who was dressed as the Pumpkin Princess. Winner in the scariest category was Siomarie and her dog Voshi who was a very frightening Zombie Dog. The best pet and owner team went to four lovely young ladies and their adorable princess “monsterish” dogs.

Saga Humane Society would like to thank all who attended the event and for their generous support. Saga also extends a heartfelt thanks  to the many individuals and businesses who donated auction and raffle items. All proceeds go the humane society and their Hip to Snip campaign.
