Press Release – Ministry of Health – February 7, 2013 – Ministry of Health and Fultec Systems signed a contract this morning at the Ministry’s headquarters in Belmopan for the supply of BZ$59,000 worth of Computer Equipment under the Grant for Salud Mesoamerica Project.
The supply includes twelve desktop computers, routers, switches, servers, server racks and printers. The equipment will be used in health facilities in the Northern and Western Regions of Belize to improve the access, usage and quality of Maternal and Infant, Child and Reproductive Health in the full utilization and networking of the Belize Health Information System.
Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Peter Allen signed on behalf of the Ministry and Human Resource Manager, Ms. Grace Brown signed on behalf of Fultec Systems.
Salud Mesoamerica Project is an innovative public-private partnership that seeks to reduce health equity gaps in countries with successful proposals in the region. Grant funds are from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Carlos Slim Foundation and Spain.
The Project compliments the World Bank Project in the south and is a part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goal targets for healthy maternal and infant care.
