Mama Vilma’s Family Home receives donation

On October 3rd, Shelly Huber, President of the non-profit organization, Mama Vilma’s Family Home received a donation made by Mr. Ralph Raina. Raina a Canadian who loves his second home, Ambergris Caye, and travels to it more than three times a year. He is a new member of Mama Vilma’s Home project and on this trip, brought baby clothes from his grandchildren Miles and Benjamin from Ottawa, Canada, to donate to the worthy cause. “I am very happy to help supporting the children of San Pedro,” he stated.

The Goals and Objectives of Mama Vilma’s Family Home are to: 1) Secure a building to be opened initially as a 28-bed facility focusing on the physical and emotional needs of children, women, families and men. 2) Collect, coordinate and disseminate knowledge and educate clients and the community about the causes, prevalence and treatment of child and family abuse. 3) Promote awareness of child and family abuse through education and to motivate the public to seek services for early detection of abuse and other related family concerns.

Mama Vilma’s Family Home is a registered non-government organization (NGO) in Belize. Donations can be made directly to Belize Bank, account number 6701-128932. “Connecting Families and Children to the Community”
