Press Release – Mexican Embassy to Belize – August 4, 2011 – 25 scholarships have been awarded this year by the Government of Belize to young Mexicans who will study English at the Regional Language Center of the University of Belize (UB) in Belmopan. The program “English as a Second Language” will last 10 months and students of different nationalities will also participate in the course.
Out of the 25 scholarships funded by the Belizean government, 20 are part of the Mexico-Belize Cultural and Educational Cooperation Agreement, and 5 are granted under an agreement between the Mexico’s School for Technical Professional Studies (CONALEP) and Belize’s Ministry of Education.
The Mexican students arrived on August 3rd in Belmopan and were hosted at the Mexican Embassy by the Charge d’Affaires, Hector Peralta, and the Cultural Attaché, Domingo Rodriguez.
