As we head into the tourism high season, many changes are underway in San Pedro. Here are a couple to be on the lookout for:
On Saturday, October 9th Ian Anderson of The Farm House Deli in Belmopan City held a farmer’s market at Mahogany Bay Village, Curio Collection by Hilton located south of San Pedro Town, and to a champagne toast announced that they would soon be opening a Farm House Deli on Ambergris Caye. They will also be opening a location in Placencia, so no matter where you are in the country you just might be close enough to taste artisanal cheeses, breads, meats, fresh garden produce and fermented and pickled vegetables. Both new locales are slated for opening in mid-December, and in the meantime Anderson promises to regularly host and attend farmer’s markets in the area.
Also sporting new offerings is Belizean Breezes Soap Company who has relocated to Pescador Drive beside Pink Boutique. Not only does Belizean Breezes have a new location, but also a larger and more improved store. Owner and operator Lynda Perdue is thrilled to have a bigger space to truly double her inventory and best serve the increasing demand for her fabulous products. “We also supply gift shops at resorts all over Belize, and even guest soaps in their rooms, so I’m very happy to have doubled my space so I can create more,” she said. “We have a lot of fun in here, I have great conversations with people who come in all the time and I am so happy to be able to provide them with all these great new products.” Open from 9AM to 9PM on Mondays through Saturdays, the store offers a variety of hand poured soaps, custom made jewellery and other beauty products and accessories.
