The Ambassador of the Republic of China in Taiwan to Belize, His Excellency Benjamin Ho and his wife were on a working visit on Ambergris Caye. During his one day visit, Ho met with the Mayor of San Pedro Town Daniel Guerrero and members of the San Pedro Town Council. The visit took place on Sunday September 28th and was part of the country’s 2014 Business and Investment Mission to Belize organized by the Central American Trade Office (CATO). As part of the delegation, Ho was accompanied by representatives of SpeedTech Energy and Sunmed Medical Group.
Representatives of the two companies made presentations about their products and line of service. The intention was for the municipal leaders to see how their products could be used in San Pedro Town. For its part, SpeedTech Energy showcased their green energy source as an alternate for non-renewable sources of energy. 
The green energy included solar powered products such as road/street lamps, solar water pump system, large and mini solar lights, solar powered radio, solar home system, solar traffic signs and garden lights. With 12 years in the business, SpeedTech has expanded in Central American, Caribbean, Middle East and African countries.
Sunmed Medical Group on the other hand, has been in business for over 50 years in Taiwan. They are one of the leading specialists in designing and manufacturing of aseptic rooms for hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The main purpose of CATO is to promote and strengthen bilateral relations between Taiwan and Central American countries through business cooperation and investment development.
Following the presentations, The Mayor presented the Ambassador and his delegate with a gift of appreciation, after which the visitors were hosted to lunch by the Mayor and members of the San Pedro Town Council.
