With support from the CARTFund, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in conjunction with BELTRAIDE and other agencies is hosting a series of forums countrywide on export opportunities for Belize within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). The main objective of these forums is to sensitize stakeholders on the demand in CARICOM for agricultural goods, the flexibilities available for trade growth and expansion, funding options and ways to satisfy the international standards for exporting. The forums will include, among others, discussions on:
(i) Existing export opportunities within CARICOM,
(ii) Special funding for the productive sector through the Development Finance Corporation,
(iii)Standards and Technical requirements to access foreign markets,
(iv) Business support services provided by BELTRAIDE,
(v) Services provided by the Directorate of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and
(vi) Transport and Logistics
The first Forum was held in Central Farm and NOW will be in Belize City on the 15th November, 2011 at the Best Western Biltmore Hotel starting at 9:00am – then onto Corozal on 17th November, 2011 at the ITVET conference room.
There are many business opportunities available to the private sector under the CARICOM Single Market and Economy. All Belizeans are encouraged to participate in these forums.
