Belizean women participate in a Marketing Workshop

Belizean Women receive Marketing training via Universidad de Quintana Roo.

Press Release – Embassy of Mexico to Belize – Belmopan – July 15, 2011. – The Mexican Embassy in collaboration with the University of Quintana Roo (UQROO) are conducting the second workshop for women “Marketing and Innovation for Small Businesses”, in support of developing women’s entrepreneurial capacity.

This workshop is the second part of the successful workshop “Be a successful entrepreneur” held in March 25 and 26, 2011 in Belize City. The objective of the whole project is to provide specific tools on marketing, which will allow women to create a business, advertising, and marketing plans. The workshop is part of the activities for the promotion of gender issues in Belize
30 Belizean women from Orange Walk, Cayo, Toledo and Belize Districts are participating in the workshop which is taking place on July 15 and 16 at the Institute of Mexico in Belize City.

The opening ceremony held this morning was headed by Professor Karen Diane Eaton, Lecturer of the University of Quintana Roo and member of the Sustainability and Innovation for Small and Medium Enterprises in Tourism Destinations Program, and Ms. Esther Montalvo, Special Affairs Officer of the Mexican Embassy.

The second workshop covers areas such as marketing process, marketing mix, advertising, customers, branding, public relations, among other related topics. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
